They’re still gaining achievements, even on their “way down” - I know their sales aren’t as strong as before but that doesn’t mean the group is slowly starting to fade or that it’s the beginning of the end. Who knows what might happen with this next album they release if they really do release it this year? It MAY surpass ‘The Boys’ sales but then again, who knows?
I just get tired of people making assumptions and making it seem like their opinion is a fact. People were even saying that they were coming to an end during ‘The Boys’ era just because they didn’t like the song and most of the people who didn’t like the song most likely didn’t even try to read the translations for the lyrics or if they can understand Korean, grasp the meaning of the song.
It had good lyrics but it’s alright if some people just genuinely didn’t like the song, I understand that. The English version was a different story but back to the point, ‘The Boys’ is their best selling Korean album as of today. Their first Japanese albums sales win over everything but talking about the Korean albums alone, ‘The Boys’ was definite slayage.
People also said they were coming to an end when they released ‘IGAB’ and look at how many achievements they’ve gotten with that song! Then they release Mr. Mr. which I don’t think is a bad song as people are making it out to be but I can only speak for myself, it’s one of my favorite SNSD songs, among the many. They also said the same thing, once again, “SNSD is coming to an end.” yet they’re still achieving things.
They truthfully may be coming to an end but I’m not so quick to fully agree with that statement, like some people. Anything can change and anything is possible. I am well aware that they won’t be around forever but they will be remembered for what they’ve done. I don’t really like saying things like this because I do know that anything is possible BUT it’s going to be very hard for another girl group to come in and do what SNSD did, so even when SNSD is long gone and completely over with, you’ll still hear about them.
I don’t like to compare girl groups or want them to be like SNSD - I’d rather each group make their own path and be known for their own achievements instead of comparisons and such but I do know that at the end of the day, they will always be compared to SNSD.
